How did we redesign our website
At EnergWISE, our goal has always been simple.
To help people better understand their energy use, reduce their bills, and make more informed decisions about their homes.
But while the advice itself was clear, our website wasn’t always making it easy for people to take the next step.
It looked fine, but it didn’t guide people particularly well. Visitors would land on the site, read a bit, and then leave without taking action.

Why we decided to redesign the website
Energy can be a complex topic.
From insulation and heating systems to renewable technologies and funding options, there’s a lot for people to take in.
We realised that if the website wasn’t structured properly, even the best advice could be missed or misunderstood.
We needed something that would:
Make information easier to navigate
Simplify complex topics
And guide people towards taking action, not just reading

Working with Greenlights
We ended up working with a local web development company in Poole to help us bring that vision to life.
What stood out straight away was their focus on how people actually use websites, rather than just how things look.
Instead of jumping straight into design, they looked at:
How visitors move through information
Where confusion happens
And what helps people feel confident enough to take the next step
That shift in thinking made a big difference, especially in how the site now supports enquiries and user engagement. You can also see a full breakdown of the project here.
If you’re looking for something similar, you can see more about their approach to building conversion-focused websites here.

What changed on the new website
The biggest difference isn’t just how the site looks, but how it works.
A clearer structure
Information is now easier to find, with a layout that helps users quickly understand their options.
Simpler, more focused content
We’ve reduced overwhelm by presenting information in a more digestible way, making it easier for people to engage with and act on.
Clear next steps
Whether someone is exploring ways to improve their home’s energy efficiency or looking into available support, the site now guides them towards what to do next.
The impact so far
Since launching the new website, the difference has been noticeable. This has been covered in more detail in the full project breakdown.
We’re seeing:
More engagement across the site
More time spent exploring information
And more people taking the next step after visiting
People arrive with a clearer understanding of what we offer, which makes a real difference.

Final thoughts
When it comes to energy advice, clarity is everything.
A website should help people understand their options and feel confident enough to act on them.
Working with a local web development company that understands how to guide users through information made a big difference for us.
If your website isn’t supporting your service in the way it should, it’s often not the information that needs changing, but the way it’s presented.
